Imagine the scene: Richard Gere meets a movie producer. "We have this movie. It's a comedy anthology. We've already shot a scene with Kate Winslet and Hugh Jackman; we'd love you to get on board, too." Of course he'd be excited. Or at least willing to consider it, since talents that big had agreed to be in it. Why look any further into it?

That can be the only way someone of Gere's standing could ever have ended up in this absolute travesty of a movie. Despite lots of actors being involved who definitely shouldn't have been, Gere was - to his credit - the only one who apparently actively tried to get out of his contract. Sadly for him, he didn't succeed and was forced to appear in an embarrassing sketch about his Apple-like company's new project - the "iBabe."

High comedy this was not.
