1. Daniel Craig - Skyfall

You might think that Daniel Craig is the best ever Bond and that his return for the 25th chapter in the 007 franchise indicates that he loves the character, but the actor has previously said he didn't want to be in Skyfall at all. He apparently has a love/hate relationship with Bond ever since the failure of Quantum of Solace.

Since then, he's played Bond twice, with a third on the way, but there's very much a sense that he's only doing it because he's contractually obligated. Which might explain why he responded to the question of playing Bond again in the run-up to Spectre's release with the following eminently quotable marketing disaster:

“Now? I’d rather … slash my wrists. No, not at the moment. Not at all. That’s fine. I’m over it at the moment. We’re done. All I want to do is move on.”

Let's hope he's changed his mind for Bond 25, eh?
