8 More Recent Movies Most Obviously Ruined By Bad Editing
5. Justice League's Reshoots Are Painfully Obvious
Where to even begin with Justice League? One of the most troubled film productions this side of Heaven's Gate, the long-awaited superhero team-up underwent massive reshoots that restructured over half of the movie, with original director Zack Snyder being swapped out for Joss Whedon. While the studio threw millions of dollars at the project to make this reshuffling seem effortless however, the cuts were embarrassingly obvious in every single scene.
While Henry Cavill's CGI upper lip drew most of the attention, it was the haphazard way the new scenes were edited into Snyder's footage that made the film feel so jarring and artificial. For better or worse, Snyder had a distinct stylistic flair he brought to the project, so when it cut from Batman and the Flash talking in these grand sets, shown in close-ups and wide shots that oozed with style, to static reshot footage clearly done in a studio, it was difficult to not notice.
The flow of these scenes came to crashing halt when reshot footage was crowbarred in, as it would awkwardly cut to two actors talking in medium shots up against a flat green-screen background that let you know immediately that this wasn't originally part of the film.
