8 More Recent Movies Most Obviously Ruined By Bad Editing
1. The Predator's... Everything
Shane Black's Predator reboot was supposed to be the film which rejuvenated the iconic sci-fi franchise, but instead it only split the fanbase even more down the middle. Trying to both go back to basics while subverting the series' long-running tropes, The Predator ended up a little bit of a mess.
The film rockets along at a blistering pace, to the point where it feels like key scenes have been cut out entirely, sacrificing context in the process. Consequently, you just have to trust the film when characters show up with new items, vehicles and narrative goals than we last saw them with.
Likewise the decision to cut out a scene after one of the actors was discovered to be a sex offender was, prior to releases, said to not have negatively impacted the end result, but it certainly adds to the jarring way characters are introduced and the audience being expected to know more than they've been told.
This is all on top of the heavily reshot ending as well, which radically changed the flow of the plot as a whole. In isolation, any one of these examples may have been fine, but combined they can't help but make the final film feel sloppy and rushed.
