3. The Uninvited Guest In 'Sunshine'
Danny Boyle's Sunshine is an excellent science-fiction film about a desperate mission to reignite the sun to save humanity. The film follows a lot of real science, which makes it technically well-done, but that's only through the first two acts. When they slingshot past Mercury, the genre switches from sci-fi to a thriller.
The crew located the Icarus I, which was the first mission sent to reignite the sun, only it disappeared seven years earlier. Figuring they had a better chance at accomplishing their mission if they used the other ship's payload, they opted to go across, but things don't go well.
Various accidents begin happening all over the ship, and some of the astronauts are killed. It's later revealed that a new person has boarded the ship. It turns out to be Captain Pinbacker, the commander of the Icarus I, and he's gone insane... homicidally insane. There's more killing and death, and by the end of the film, the mission is a success.
Going back to the part where a single person was able to survive aboard a spacecraft alone for seven years, all the while being burned from close exposure to the sun and having gone completely batty — that doesn't seem possible. There's no explanation for how he survived for so long on his own, and while his insanity makes sense, his being alive doesn't.
