8 Movie Characters Who Foreshadowed Their Own Deaths

7. Harry Osborn (Spider-Man 3)

Harry Osborn's tragic downfall is one of the best elements of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, with the likeable hero (or villain, depending on his mood) coming to a poetic demise when he sacrifices himself to save Peter Parker, dying in the exact same manner as his father - impaled by a glider.

The younger Osborn foreshadowed his moment of bravery earlier in the film, during a scene where he's recuperating in a hospital bed.

After Peter and MJ have paid their friend a visit, the attending nurse tells Harry how lovely they are, to which he replies "my best friends... I'd give my life for them."

And wouldn't you know it, that's exactly what he ends up doing. Sure, Harry may have been a bit of a d*ck during his whole Green Goblin phase, but his final act proves that, deep down, he never stopped caring for the people closest to him.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for over ten years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
