8 Movie Posters That Shamelessly Tried To Rip-off Batman
4. Arrow
Yet another poster to openly borrow tonally from both the Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises posters - the composition might not be the same, but the hero standing in front of a city-scape is unmistakably familiar, and the lighting touches and general palette of the image definitely owes something to both posters. Green Arrow even has the same light halo that Batman does in the Dark Knight poster. Having watched the show, in hindsight the decision to lift influence from Nolan's Batman posters seems wholly appropriate given how much the CW show seems to have taken from the films themselves. The similarities between Arrow and Batman Begins (and specifically the presentation of young Bruce Wayne) are very obvious, and it would be utterly forgivable given their clearly similar origin stories if it wasn't for the fact that CW have clearly taken creative and aesthetic leads from the film as well. Some shots could easily have been lifted out of Nolan's films, and placed into Arrow with minimal changes. But then, as we've already qualified, familiarity breeds success by association.
