3. Battle: LA
Another from the school of a lone hero standing in front of things looking quite brooding, but undaunted by the obvious task at hand, this poster for the frankly appalling Battle: Los Angeles (shame on you Eckhart!) owes a lot in compositional and narrative terms to the Dark Knight poster, though it could itself have been an inspiration to the Dark Knight Rises poster. And so everything is connected in the great circle of life. There could actually be some suggestion that the Dark Knight Rises team took some inspiration from the Battle: LA poster's industrial looking heavy metal, since there are certainly textural similarities between the two images as well. But then, it would be awful to think that The Dark Knight Rises owes anything to Battle: LA in any way.
