8. Legend's Two Star Review Is Used Creatively On The Poster
Tom Hardys Kray biopic Legend received mostly positive reviews from major publications including Empire and Total Film but the poster artist got very inventive with a negative review from The Guardian. The critic Benjamin Lee only gave the film two stars, slamming it as cartoonish and shallow, and basically writing a review that wouldn't really convince people to go see it. Instead of leaving the review off the poster though, the artist instead placed it perfectly between the two Kray brothers, which when combined with the other glowing reviews tricks the eye into thinking The Guardian also gave it four stars. It was a sneaky move that offended some people in the industry, with the critic and other publications slamming it as blatant false advertising that was intentionally misleading. Now, that is a valid point but as false advertising goes, its damn creative.
