2. Jesse Eisenberg's Fake Review Offended Professional Critics
Jesse Eisenberg can be a snarky dude both on and off-screen and he didnt hold back in a satirical article he wrote for The New Yorker. Eisenberg wrote from the perspective of a critic who is portrayed as a petty, bitter man-child with no social skills. The article was a tongue in cheek comment on the nature of online film reviewers, but for a profession where people criticise the work of others, they revealed themselves to be remarkably thin-skinned. They slammed it as smug, biased and unfair, claiming it knocked their noble profession and that Eisenberg should expect his future work to be judged based on his comments. Other critics could see the funny side and took the article as a joke, and a fair comment on some of the lazier writers in their profession. The negative response to the review appears to be a great example of Dont dish it out if you cant take it, although time will tell if theres any lasting backlash against Eisenberg for it. If Batman V Superman gets really bad reviews, at least he can blame it on the article.
