8 Movie Trailers That Contained The Final Shot Of The Film

5. The Apparition

If you've never heard of 2012's The Apparition, then that's a good thing, because it really isn't very good.

Entertaining every single horror movie jump-scare trope you could think of and offering little in the way of scares or tension, it felt like a slog even at a brief one hour and twenty-two-minute runtime.

The movie ends with lead character Kelly walking around aimlessly, before entering a derelict Costco store. Here, she heads to the camping section, hops into a nearby tent, zips it up and waits for the film's supernatural entity to take her.

The camera then focuses on her face as a group of hands slowly appear from behind her, grabbing her shoulders and face before the movie cuts to black and ends.

This was the shot used to end the movie's trailer, and, surprisingly, it was featured quite prominently here. Maybe the studio knew they had a dud on their hands and didn't care about spoiling the ending for the seven people who would actually see it?
