8 Movie Villains Whose Logic Makes No Sense
1. Mission : Impossible 2 - Ambrose Keeps A Spy Around So He Can Have Sex
I'm sure at some point we've all done something stupid in the pursuit of sex.
But for Mission Impossible 2 villain Sean Ambrose (Dougray Scott), he takes away the gold trophy when he listens to what's between his legs, instead of what's between his ears - despite his closest consorts advising him otherwise.
In order to get close to Ambrose and acquire the Chimera Virus, Ethan Hunt recruits Nyah Nordoff-Hall (Thandie Newton) to infiltrate Ambrose' operation. It helps that Nyah and Ambrose were once lovers, and to complicate things - one is definitely not over the other.
In a scene roughly around the midpoint of the film, Ambrose' sidekick Hugh (Richard Roxburgh) points out the strange coincidence that Nyah shows up shortly after Ambrose and his team are about to do some shady dealings.
In a weird scene involving a cigar cutter, Ambrose agrees with Hugh that Nyah's sudden re-emergence is suspicious; but has decided to keep her around partly to gleam information from here (which sort of goes nowhere), but mainly to keep his overblown sex drive in check.
There are a few moments in M:I 2 that show Sean Ambrose to be the horniest villain around. Which wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't actively jeopardising and exposing his operation at the chance of another roll in the hay.
Come on Ambrose, now you're just coming off as needy. Which is really unattractive.
