8 Movies That Everyone Turned Against On A Second Viewing

5. The Blair Witch Project

In recent years, The Blair Witch Project seems to have become synonymous with the idea of a "bad, unscary horror movie" - to such an extent, in fact, that you'd be lucky to find somebody on the street who genuinely still thinks that this movie is a good one. It's strange to consider that, at one time, this small, impressive debut - about a group of teens who go into the Maryland woods with a handheld camera to disturbing results - was the movie that everyone was talking about. Upon first release, it was met with ecstatic reviews and amassed a cult following. Would it be wrong to say that it's become fashionable to say The Blair Witch Project is a bad movie? That's not to claim that it's a great movie, but it's certainly a good, innovative one that managed to change the way we think about the horror genre. Perhaps because of its relatively sparse style and cheap production values, it was difficult to love this movie on a second viewing - you knew what was going to happen. What more was there to appreciate, right? For those who saw this just once, then, there's a good chance these folk still think of Witch as a terrifying experience - for anybody who decided to watch it again, though... one viewing too much, perhaps?
