8 Movies That Sacrificed Their Integrity By Pandering To The Masses

6. Terminator Salvation (2007)

Terminator SalvationSacrificed Its Integrity By... Editing The Movie To Achieve A Lower Rating Now here's a movie that didn't necessarily need to have been excessively violent or anything to work, but ultimately feels like it's been edited and dumbed down so that a PG rating could be achieved. Now, c'mon - who in their right mind wants to see a Terminator movie that has been rated PG? Like I said, it's not technically necessary or anything, but in this case it just felt like we'd paid to watch a censored cut. So what happened? Well, director McG (that's his real name - I'm so sorry) admitted that he took out a few shots in order to get Terminator Salvation a lower rating and therefore more money, which would have been fine by the studio, of course. What's irritating, though, is how at odds the non-violent nature of this movie feels with what you're actually watching: it's the battle between humankind and sentient robots. Why wasn't it freakin' insane?
