8 Movies That Sacrificed Their Integrity By Pandering To The Masses

5. Prometheus (2012)

PrometheusSacrificed Its Integrity By... Watering Down Science-Fiction Aspects Correct me if I'm wrong, but on the surface, at least, Prometheus appears to be a movie designed specifically for hardcore science-fiction nerds and people who like the Alien movies. I mean, that's what this thing was for, wasn't it? People who like proper science fiction ("hard," as it's often labelled and/or the way that science fiction is dealt with in the Alien movies. Comprehensibly. Intelligently. To a point where it made you think about stuff. So what gives? How did we end up with a Prometheus that skimps over science-fiction like it's a genre that nobody is really interested in? Instead of an interesting movie that dealt with the questions it posed with any amount of intelligent, we got bewilderingly stupid, ineffectual characters and "scientists" talking science like it'd all be worked out by Damon Lindelof, one of the masterminds behind Lost. It was, you say? Well, now it all makes complete sense.
