8 Problems With Upcoming Movies (That Have Already Been Solved)
1. Sonic The Hedgehog
The Problem: The rubbish Sonic design.
The Solution: The design is being completely overhauled.
The first trailer for Paramount's live-action Sonic the Hedgehog film will forever be remembered for providing us with some top-tier meme material, all thanks to how laughably bad its depiction of Sonic looked.
If you have eyes you can already tell why it's bad, and considering that the design has been ripped to shreds, you've probably seen a lot of the criticisms already. It's clear that the film would have been in serious trouble if things stayed the same - a lot of people probably wouldn't have gone to see it, and those that did go would have continued to mock and ridicule the design even further, so something had to give here.
And to give Paramount some credit, it seems like they're fully committed to fixing this issue. Shortly after the trailer dropped, director Jeff Fowler sent out a tweet explaining that they'd heard the negative response, had taken it onboard, and would take the film to the operating table in order to re-design Sonic.
Presumably, this will involve making him look more like he does in the games, but no matter how this new version turns out, it cannot possibly be received as badly as the first one was. If Paramount gets this wrong a second time, they're either idiots, or they're incompetent, so whether or not the film itself sucks, Sonic should, at least, look decent.
