8 R-Rated Comic Book Movies That Definitely Shouldn't Follow Deadpool

7. Invincible

Considering the fact that The Walking Dead has been such a massive success, it's shocking that we've heard absolutely nothing about a big screen adaptation of Robert Kirkman's other long-running series, Invincible. Possibly the biggest problem is that the larger than life characters and epic space battles are just too expensive for TV, and there's just no way the ultra violence in the series would translate to a PG-13 movie. However, while scenes such as the one you see above are always fun to see in the comics, they're also largely unnecessary (even if they do perhaps show what people with these abilities are capable of). If Kirkman views this as being an essential part of any adaptation, there's just no way that it's ever going to get made because the budget which comes with an R-Rating would never in a million years do Invincible justice. Sacrificing the violence in order to give this character the big budget treatment he needs to bring his world to life in a convincing manner is a must. An R-Rating would spell doom for the franchise as the character would have to be grounded and the source material largely ignored, and while we would have what would no doubt be a very unique and fun R-Rated superhero movie, it would likely end up being Invincible in name only.
