6. Ghost Rider
Marvel's TV shows on Netflix have been described as being "PG-15" by those involved with them, and while they're certainly quite a bit more mature than the Marvel Studios movies, the likes of Daredevil and Jessica Jones are a very long way off from being R-Rated. However, ever since Marvel regained the rights to characters like Blade, Ghost Rider, and The Punisher, fans have begun hoping Marvel might embrace that rating. Forgetting for a moment that it's highly unlikely Disney would start greenlighting R-Rated Marvel movies, none of those characters need an R-Rating to succeed. After two failed PG-13 efforts, Ghost Rider in particular is a character who it's said should be tearing up the big screen in a full on horror movie, but Kevin Feige and company have found their niche with PG-13 blockbusters, and Johnny Blaze could easily fit into those. After all, Spirit of Vengeance pushed the boundaries of PG-13 and really didn't work, while the first movie attempted to place the character in a horror setting and dropped the ball in a big way. Just like Frank Castle can fit into Daredevil's world without chopping off heads and being bathed in blood, so too could Ghost Rider one day become a big action blockbuster franchise. An R-Rating would only make him even more obscure.
