8 Reasons Ben Affleck Should Retire From Batman
5. His Press Tour Composure
As you may have garnered by now, a lot of the issues revolving around all of this stems from the sheer publicity of it. Disputes such as this between an actor and studio relating to a franchise are not at all uncommon and happen all of the time. The only reason this particular issue gets so much coverage is that Affleck apparently has no idea how to keep any semblance of composure after he's been on a press tour for a few weeks.
Whether he's doing press for a DCEU film or one of his other ventures, Affleck is constantly asked about this franchise and the role he plays in it. That is completely understandable. The issue arises from the fact that he can't ever seem to give a consistent answer. During the Justice League press tour he was literally giving contradicting answers, as to his return to the role, from one day to the next.
Things later got even worse during that press tour, when amidst the Time's Up campaign's accusations coming out, Affleck attempted to make light of the matter with some exceedingly ill-conceived jokes.
It isn't entirely Affleck's fault (he is, by far, the DCEU star in the spotlight when it comes to interviewing) but his fellow DCEU stars seem quite capable of not running into these issues. They nod, give polite, general answers and are on their way. A new actor would alleviate the pressure from the press and take a whole lot of stress off of Affleck.
