8 Reasons Ben Affleck Should Retire From Batman
3. His Laziness
Remember when Affleck was initially cast in BvS? Sure, the internet exploded decrying it immediately, but the man himself got down to business. He got in the best shape of his career, he made sure to get hair implants to give himself a comics-accurate widow's peak, and spoke at length about how passionate he was about doing the character justice. Regardless of your opinion of his performance in that film, it's hard to deny that the man was well and truly committed to the role.
Fast forward a few years and that same man is practically unrecognizable in the role.
Not just physically but emotionally, Affleck's performance in Justice League showed that his heart was clearly not in it. He spent the vast majority of the film staring vacantly into the midground without even vaguely attempting to emote. Whereas he perhaps felt he had something to prove in BvS, given his prior Daredevil failure and the internet's reaction, its follow-up showed that he had lost any and all of whatever had been such a strong motivator before.
He fell out of shape, his widow's peak was an exceedingly noticeably bad wig, and every time he opened his mouth to talk about the role it sounded like a downtrodden speaker at an AA meeting.
