3. The Villains Are Terrible

It's a common complaint of the MCU that they just can't establish great villains (beyond Loki, of course), and again, this is another area where Deadpool falls totally flat. Now, it certainly doesn't help that the two core villains, Ajax (Ed Skrein) and Angel Dust (Gina Carano), are played by the guy who replaced Jason Statham in the fourth Transporter movie and an athlete, but even so, they just don't have much personality, like, at all. Ajax is just a mad scientist a**hole, while Angel Dust spends most of her screen time getting insulted for her masculine build. Neither are particularly interesting either in terms of how they're written or acted, and so the movie is left with a massive void of charisma and interest any time they're on screen.
