MetalBeard made his explosive first appearance in the official teaser for the movie, and since then he has already become a fan favourite amongst many. Swearing revenge on Lord Business for losing his original body in a deadly battle, MetalBeard joins Emmet on his quest to save the universe. He is a fierce pirate 'Master Builder' with the head of a grisly pirate and a body that is a combination of random piratical Lego pieces. He has two cannons on his left hand and for no reason whatsoever, a Lego shark on the right. Along with his bizarre arsenal, MetalBeard has two prized possessions; his parrot and chest torso, which contains all of his favourite body parts. However, it's his voice actor that is the main appeal here. Known for his break-out role as the legendary Ron Swanson, internet favourite and all-American actor Nick Offerman provides the voice for MetalBeard. It is undoubtedly the perfect casting for such a role, and it's sure to get fans interested in the movie (on the basis of his distinguishable voice alone). MetalBeard is sure to be one of the favourites when the movie hits, plus the official Lego sets featuring the pirate behemoth look superb. Two of those sets will be appearing on shelves throughout the year, such as MetalBeard's Duel and MetalBeard's Sea Cow. The Sea Cow MetalBeard's pirate ship might just be one of the most impressive Lego movie sets, as it boasts a staggering 2741 pieces. For any Lego collector, it is not to be missed (though it will have a hefty price tag), as it looks incredible. It even has Emmet's genius 'Double Decker Couch' included. Hopefully Offerman's inclusion in the movie means that MetalBeard may have a comment or two about the consumption of meat, and the state of the Lego government.
