8 Reasons Triple 9 Could Be The Most Underrated Film Of 2016

7. The Second Heist Is A BlastBombheist Towards the end of the film, we are treated to our second high-stakes heist. Unlike our five man crew from the beginning, we are now down to a two man crew, and one of them we don't exactly trust. This particular heist also takes part just after the event of the title; a Triple 9. For those unaware, a triple 9 is what's called in when a police officer has been shot and is in imminent danger. That's the kind of film we're dealing with here. The character's best and only strategy is to kill an innocent cop. Unlike the first, the second heist is not an exciting thrill, instead it is a nerve-wracking, aggressive operation. Whereas in the first heist no one was badly injured, here we have home made bombs strapped to heads and limbs. That alone should illustrate the escalation. Even more frantic than the first, this second robbery is also a lot more frightening. Ejiofor's Michael Atwood finally lets out some of the violence we knew was bubbling under surface as he goes from anti-hero to villain. Heist number two is a ferocious, nerve shredding sequence that will stick in your mind long after the credits have rolled.
