8 Reasons We’ve Lost Faith In The Dark Tower
6. Reshoots To The Tune Of $6 Million
From the sound of things, certain scenes from The Dark Tower had to be shot more times than Roland Deschain's guns to get them right.
Sony, apparently, deemed it necessary to spend an additional $6 million reshooting portions of the film following the early negative reception.
Sounds expensive, but aren't reshoots part and parcel of filmmaking? Of course they are, but the reason the studio ordered them won't fill fans with confidence.
Reports suggest the movie needed padding to flesh out Roland's motivation for hating the Man in Black - his desire to vanquish all of existence clearly wasn't enough.
If The Dark Tower movie couldn't convey such a key theme the first time around, it the begs question about what else has been jettisoned from the source material?
