8 Reasons We’ve Lost Faith In The Dark Tower

5. The Piffling Runtime

With a runtime that clocks in at little over an hour and a half, The Dark Tower is running the risk of falling on the wrong side of epic.

Little has been sold about the movie beyond the Roland versus the Man in Black angle, and with just 95 minutes to play with, you have to wonder how they've managed to cram other aspects of the story in.

Stephen King has taken to Twitter to defend the film's length, describing it as "all killer and no filler" and comparing it to the first book in the series, The Gunslinger.

The trouble is, this isn't an adaptation of novel #1, as we keep being told, so negelecting to introduce some of the wider saga's themes is a missed opportunity.
