2. Marvel's Future Is Assured
Both DC and Marvel's movie slates run up to the year 2020, but there's no real guarantee that they'll both definitely reach the next decade. DC and Warner are on decidedly shaky ground after Green Lantern flopped, Man Of Steel was met with a 'meh' and the Batman v Superman trailer killed anticipation for the movie stone dead. DC may have lofty plans for the Justice League, but as it stands only Gal Godot's Wonder Woman is in active production. If BvS and Wonder Woman fail to have the desired effect it's hard to see the DCU having enough credibility to limp on for another half a decade and beyond. Marvel Studios meanwhile is in rude health. They may have had some middling films down the line but they've never been less than entertaining, enjoyable and well made, garnering enough critical praise, acting talent, casual goodwill and fanboy love to have thoroughly embedded itself into the popular culture landscape. Marvel can't possibly screw up enough to not reach Infinity War, but DC still has a mountain to climb to prove itself.
