As a rule, every announcement from Marvel is met with huge excitement. Casting news discussed for days on end, trailers are feverishly anticipated and the details of the next storyline to be adapted are discussed with awed tones or booming excitement across the internet and beyond. It's a far cry from the outpouring of vitriol that seems to meet each new piece of marketing and casting from DC. People were willing to give Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel the benefit of the doubt, but the over-reliance on destructive spectacle and Superman murdering Zod soured the faithful.. To top it off, Green Lantern is still stinking out the Warner lot, Gal Gadot was slammed for being too thin to be Wonder Woman and Ben Affleck's casting as Batman actually lead to a group of whiny p*ssbabies setting up a petition to have the role recast. DC can't realistically be expected to get anywhere without support, but whether the root of the problem lies in the studio's direction or fickle fan griping is a tricky question to answer. Regardless, the MCU fandom is a much happier place.
