8 Reasons Why Fans Should Be Worried About Spider-Man Joining The MCU

4. It Might Not Be A Long Term Deal

The problem with an announcement this exciting is that a lot of fans are now frothing at the mouth with anticipation for what's to come. It's entirely understandable, especially as pretty much everyone thought this would be something which was never going to happen. However, as hyped up as the whole thing has been over the past week or so, many are failing to look at the business side of things. What if Spider-Man just appears in Captain America: Civil War and that's it? Kevin Feige then gives his input creatively for the reboot, and that's a success, leading to the two parties parting ways. The MCU will once again be without Spider-Man and Sony will be free to mess things up all over again. The End. Until more specific details are revealed, there's nothing to say that this won't be the case. Marvel give Captain America: Civil War a boost, Sony have a better Spider-Man franchise on their hands, and the two part ways amicably. That's very much a glass half empty way of looking at things, but unless a deal is in place which will see Spidey take on a leading role in Avengers: Infinity War and Daredevil (for example) swinging into a future Spider-Man movie, this is also a very realistic possibility. It's just best to temper expectations for now!
