8 Reasons Why Miles Morales Shouldn't Be The Movie Spider-Man Yet

4. Morales' Origin Involves Peter Parker

Without spoiling too much for those who haven't read Morales' origin, those who have followed Morales in comics know that he was inspired to become Spider-Man when he witnessed the original Spider-Man in a dramatic battle with the Green Goblin. Following this, many of Morales' storylines have involved Parker's villains and supporting cast, including Gwen Stacy and Aunt May. The two Spider-Men don't just share an identity; their worlds are completely intertwined. It would be hard to make a movie about Morales without involving Parker and his familiar supporting cast unless filmmakers radically change Morales' origin. If a Morales-starring Spider-Man movie would need to feature everyone connected to Parker anyway, it makes sense to establish Parker and his supporting cast in the Marvel Cinematic Universe first before Morales shows up. If not, Morales' origin would be so different that he would arguably not be the same character.
