8 Reasons Wolverine 3 Should Be Rated R

1. Hugh Jackman Wants That R Rating

When looking at Hugh Jackman in his Wolverine costume, it's quite hard to tell where he ends and the character begins. It's increasingly obvious that he was born to play this role, and his love for the character shows. Just last year, he was quoted as saying he wouldn't start shooting Wolverine 3 until the script was "perfect." This in mind, it's great to hear that he actually wants to push forward with an R rating. Jackman hasn't exactly been coy about his willingness to proceed with a more adult Wolverine 3, on numerous occasions. "In the end, actually, everything we wanted to do with an R-rated version, we are doing in terms of who the character is. So, yeah. One more?€ His statement enforces something that has been absent from the X-Men franchise for years and years, and that's how closely the big screen Wolverine matches his comic book counterpart. The two don't really sync up, and it looks like Wolverine 3 is set on rectifying that, in a brutal fashion. If Jackman - who has played this character for 17 years and is one of the driving forces behind Wolverine's unbelievable success - has signed off on an R rated Wolverine 3, then it's readily apparent that all the pieces are clicking into place. As the man said, it's a move that would be true to the character - and there's no better reason than that. Do you think Wolverine 3 should be rated R? Let us know in the comments!
