8 Recent Movie Deaths That MUST Stay Permanent
3. Steve Trevor (Wonder Woman)
As a whole, the DCEU is up in the air right now, but Wonder Woman is one of the few existing characters who at least looks to have a bright big-screen future - hence Wonder Woman 1984 hitting cinemas in June 2020.
One of the key components of driving Diana on to become a hero for all mankind, is the example that Chris Pine's Steve Trevor showed her in that 2017 movie. And that example ended up with Trevor paying the ultimate price of giving up his own life for the benefit of others.
That act of sacrifice is a pivotal component of what makes the Amazonian tick, of what drives her, and of what inspires her. To remove that attitude-altering, life-changing moment from Diana's past would just be boneheaded.
Steve Trevor has already been confirmed to be a part of next year's Wonder Woman 1984, but that return has to be simply a flashback or even some sort of ruse or manifestation created by one of the sequel's villains. If not, you risk changing one of the fundamental factors in what made Wonder Woman who she is.
