8 Redeeming Qualities Of The Star Wars Prequel Trilogy

7. Mass Jedi Showdown in Episode II

Jedigeonosis There was very little to write home about in Attack of the Clones, but when we saw one green and blue lightsaber after another emit from among the crowd of spectators hoping to see Anakin and company mauled, you had to get excited. In five movies have we ever seen the Jedi Order represented in such a manner and in such sheer numbers. It was a turning point for the saga's story, which was prevalent by the need to send every member of the Jedi Council and more to Geonosis to take down an army of baddies. For nerds it was pandemonium. We loved it. It was remarkable to catch a glimpse of characters that we loved but never knew their names in action, something that we only saw in the expanding mythos of the novels and comics. And the showdown between Mace Windu and Jango Fett was a highlight as carnage and chaos erupted around them, all ending with poor Boba holding his own father's head in rage. Yikes! The scene was a visual party and geek treat on a scale that was difficult to find elsewhere in the six films.
