4. "I'm Autumn..." - 500 Days Of Summer
Girls love Joseph Gordon-Levitt and guys love Zooey Deschanel; put them both together and you get 500 Days of Summer. Marc Webb's indie sensation about a woman who doesn't think love exists and the guy who is determined to prove her wrong already stands as a sort of modern rom-com classic, but coincidence and convenience come with the territory. Tom (Gordon-Levitt) spends the whole movie completely befuddled by Summer (Deschanel), but in the end it spells nothing but heartbreak. Yes, she does find true love - but it isn't with Tom. It's sad, and it's different, and it certainly isn't the way most audiences expected it to go. But the final scene sees Tom fall in love again. With a girl called Autumn. Tom looks at the audience; and we look back in with a cringe on our face. Autumn? We're happy for the guy it has to be said, but isn't it a massive coincidence that he falls in love with another girl named after a season? What about Spring and Winter? When does he get with them?
