4. Cloverfield 2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1k7Tg0jgJg Here's one stinger that had the Internet feverishly debating it for months. Matt Reeves' excellent monster movie ends with the protagonist essentially giving his final testament to the camera as the war between Clover and the army rages around him and the camera cuts off, but after the credits, there's a fiendish little stinger that most people either missed or were totally confused by. The stinger is a two-second sample of crackling radio static which says "Help us", but when played backwards, appears to be a soldier saying, "It's still alive." This is a simple enough set-up for a sequel, an idea that has been pushed around Hollywood for years yet has never materialised. One idea was that the sequel would be the same scenario but shot from a different perspective. Compounding the sequel's low likelihood is the assertion of Reeves and co. that, in fact, Clover is dead and this stinger was basically one big troll to get people talking (and to basically buy the DVD to hear it for themselves).
