Fans of the Terminator franchise really didn't make it easy for themselves when they picked something to like.

Whilst the first two movies in the series are great and the third one is ok, almost everything after that sucks to high heavens.

On top of the bad movies, they've had to contend with snotty people saying "Why didn't Skynet just send more than Terminator to kill John Connor?" since 1984!

Well, as it turns out, they did.

Terminator: Dark Fate from 2019 is the sixth mainline instalment in the series and will hopefully be its last. Original creator James Cameron returned to the movies for the first time since 1991... and immediately retconned pretty much everything that happened after he left.

What a power move.

Dark Fate opens with Sarah Connor and her son John relaxing on a beach in Guatemala. Their time at the beach is spoiled, not by sunburn or annoying kids, but by another T-800 model Terminator.

Skynet had sent back multiple killing machines to achieve their goal and, in Dark Fate, they succeeded. John Connor dies, the future is changed, and the most annoying question in the fandom's history is finally terminated.
