2. There Are Actually Four Villains

You would think that the Vulture and Shocker would count as enough villains for Spider-Man to contend with but apparently, Marvel is looking to stack the deck against him. Despite what many people think, there are two more notable villains making an appearance in Homecoming, both with very close ties to Spidey lore.

Donald Glover and Michael Chernus are both featured prominently in the trailer. From their brief appearance, it's possible to ascertain that Glover has brought the Chitauri technology to Chernus who is conducting some explosive tests, presumably before selling it off to the main villains.

Chernus has been confirmed as playing The Tinkerer who is essentially a weapons manufacturer for villains (Mysterio's suit and Scorpion's tail are both a part of his villainous portfolio). Glover is still unnamed on IMDb, but there's little doubt that he's going to be portraying Hobie Brown aka The Prowler.

Brown shares a lot of characteristics with Peter Parker but instead of heroics, he turns to a life of crime, using his abilities to become an accomplished thief. It would make sense that he would be working for the Tinkerer, stealing what he needs on commission.

While these characters are a certainly a welcome addition to the MCU, hopefully, they don't leave Homecoming feeling overstuffed with ancillary roles that don't get the share of screen time they deserve.
