6. Clark Kent / Superman (Man Of Steel) €“ Wrecking Half Of Metropolis During His Fight With General Zod

There were two moments that upset fans and caused a lot of controversy in Man Of Steel. The first was Superman murdering Zod himself. Personally I had no issue with, as considering the circumstances, I don't think Superman had much of a choice but to kill his enemy. However as he is supposed to be the saviour of humanity, Superman's final struggle with his fellow Kryptonians sure got a lot of humans killed. You have to wonder how big the death toll was at the end of Man Of Steel. Zod's master plan to terraform the planet may have been diabolical enough, but to obliterate several skyscrapers during a fist-fight is just as irresponsible. Surely Superman could have found a way to take the fight out of the city? Just because the film didn't reveal what happened, doesn't mean there weren't hundreds, maybe thousands of people trapped amid rubble, crushed to death or bleeding out with no chance of escape. Perhaps this will be the starting point for Batman's arrival in the sequel. With his god-like powers, Superman causes as much destruction as does prevent it. Someone needs to keep him in check. Maybe the Dark Knight with a handy ring of Kryptonite might be the answer?
