8 Surprising Movie Villain Turns You Never Saw Coming

3. Mr. Glass - Unbreakable

Low key one of the best superhero movies ever made, M. Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable is all about Bruce Willis' David coming to terms with the realisation that he's virtually indestructible.

Attempting to figure out why he was unharmed in a train crash that killed hundreds, the survivor seeks out Elijah, a man suffering from a condition which makes his bones as fragile as glass, who encourages David to use his powers for good.

Of course, this wouldn't be a Shyamalan movie without a twist to cap everything off, and at the very end it's revealed that Elijah has orchestrated hundreds of terrorist attacks - including the crash that "birthed" David - in order to find the perfect hero to his villain.

Finally finding that in David, Elijah gives himself the super-villain moniker of Mr. Glass, seemingly content in finally creating his "match".
