In such a massive year for Marvel movies, it's fair to say that the big question at the moment is "which one is going to come out on top?" Both in terms of critical reception and box office success, it's an intriguing four-way battle between a quartet of very different movies. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is a sure-fire success in box office terms and it's almost certain that Captain America: The Winter Soldier and X-Men: Days of Future Past will be too - though it's harder to judge just how much of a success the latter two will be. Guardians of the Galaxy, however, is a completely unknown quantity. None of the characters have appeared in a movie before and the setting and feel of the movie will be very different to anything seen in a comic book movie before. It will be campier, wackier and outright more ridiculous than any other comic book movie - particularly those produced by Marvel to date - and that means it could be either brilliant or completely awful. With characters like Rocket Raccoon and Groot, audiences are either going to love it or hate it and, along with the other three Marvel movies of 2014, it's going to be intriguing to see exactly how well it goes down with both critics and audiences.
