8 Things Justice League Must To Do To Get The DCEU Back On Track

3. Produce Some Strong Villains

Like its Marvel counterpart, the DCEU has a problem with creating standout villains. Jesse Eisenberg's portrayal of Lex Luthor proved to be a massive misfire, robbing one of comic book's greatest villains of his gravitas and credibility. Worse yet, the supervillain Doomsday seemed tacked on to BvS as an afterthought, a plot device designed to get Batman and Superman to join forces with Wonder Woman and nothing more.

While this resulted in a spectacular final rumble in the movie's climax, Snyder could have put a lot more thought into setting up Doomsday properly.

But, the DCEU's problems with antagonists go beyond BvS. Suicide Squad's villain, the Enchantress, motivation's made little sense and she failed to make much of an impression. Suicide Squad also mistreated The Joker, wasting a fine Jared Leto performance for nothing.

Superhero movies are at their best when the good guys get to face off against a memorable adversary. Snyder should take the time to create a villain worthy of the Justice League's talents. This way, the movie will pop and resonate with audiences. Snyder has a lot of balls to juggle with Justice League, but this is one he should keep in the air at all costs.
