8 Things Marvel Could Do After Phase 3

3. The Punisher Kills The Marvel Universe

Stay with me on this one.

One of the greatest crowd-pleasing comics ever produced has most assuredly been The Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe. It does exactly what it says on the tin. And, should Marvel require a great big reset button for its eventual collapse in on itself, what way is there to do it than by watching recently-cast Jon Bernthal annihilate all of our favourite characters?

The storyline could unfold thusly; adopting the attitude that all the good guys are merely bringing all the costumed whackos out as well, Frank Castle decides to eliminate every single one of them. Come the ending, The Watcher appears (played by none other than Stan Lee), who tells Castle what an egregious mistake he's made. Duly deciding to forsake his own "look, but don't touch" rule, The Watcher rewinds time to before Castle killed his first hero.

When we reset the continuity, all of the main heroes are now played by younger, different actors. Congratulations, you just gave yourself a reboot. And Jon Bernthal just had the highlight of his career.
