2. The Death Of Captain America
At the end of Captain America: Civil War, Steve Rogers should die. I love Chris Evans in this role (he's by far my favourite Avenger), but his death would rock the foundations of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to its very core, setting the stage for Phase 3 to be different to what everyone expected. Cap dying in his own movie would also no doubt blow the minds of moviegoers unfamiliar with the comic books! More important though is the kind of story ramifications this would have. With Captain America dead, Bucky could finally embrace being a hero and wield the shield as he did following the Civil War comic, something we've pretty much all been waiting to see since he first picked the iconic weapon up way back in Captain America: The First Avenger. Unfortunately, the chances of a Disney owned Marvel property ending with the titular character being shot dead are somewhere between slim and none. Throw in the fact that Evans has confirmed that he starts shooting Avengers: Infinity War next year and that should be all the confirmation you need. Sure, there's a very slim chance that Marvel are covering up Captain America's death in this movie, but it's damn near impossible to imagine them killing off one of their most popular heroes and ditching Evans in preference of Sebastian Stan. He's great and all, but certainly not the box office draw the current Cap has become. Some believe the character will meet his maker in Infinity War instead, but if anything, Stan will take over a few years from now with Steve Rogers deciding to retire or something similarly tame. The MCU just isn't dark enough to kill off its brightest light.
