The hope is that The Defenders - Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist - will one day get the chance to assemble on the big screen alongside The Avengers. You'd think the overwhelmingly positive response to Daredevil would pretty much guarantee at least the Man Without Fear a place on the team when it comes time to face Thanos, but I for one don't think there's any chance of that happening. Kevin Feige has remained very vague when asked about the possibility of a crossover and even admitted to not having had the chance to watch Daredevil during the press tour for Avengers: Age of Ultron! While these characters may exist in the same world, Marvel Studios and Marvel Television are two very separate entities, and the divide between them has apparently grown even greater since Feige decided he'd rather report directly to Disney (Perlmutter still oversees Marvel TV). There's also been mention in the past of the Marvel Studios boss not liking the fact that Marvel TV shows even exist! Regardless of whether or not that backstage chatter is accurate, Daredevil getting a second season and Iron Fist being delayed very much points to Marvel TV making things up as they go along, with that original plan - four solo shows followed by a team-up series titled The Defenders - going out of the window depending on how well each of these do due to second seasons and the like. For that reason alone, there's a very good chance that both parties will be unable to coordinate and get these characters all in the right place to make them meeting The Avengers a possibility in Infinity War. On the plus side, the chances of an Avengers/Guardians of the Galaxy team-up are looking slightly more positive... Are you unhappy to see these Phase 3 missing features?
