8 Things You Need To Know About The New Pixar Movies

6. The Good Dinosaur's Production Problems Saw 5% Of Pixar Staff Sacked

Regardless of the great sense of anticipation and excitement that The Good Dinosaur is generating, there's a bit of an uneasy background story to the latest vibrant, squidgy kids film produced by Pixar. Some critics are labelling The Good Dinosaur as the company's most troubled production yet, and given that a significant number of employees were forced to pack up their bags and find new jobs due to constant delays, that label might just be warranted. Pixar were forced to announce in September 2013 that the release date for The Good Dinosaur was being pushed back by 18 months due to financial restrictions and story problems, and 5% of the entire workforce were unexpectedly laid off as a result. What's more, the film's director Bob Peterson was abruptly pulled from the project too, and Peter Sohn was sought to replace him. Who'd have thought that one friendly green dinosaur could cause so much chaos?
