4. George Eastman
Born Luigi Montefiori, George Eastman was a big tall hunk (6ft 9) who is known chiefly for his collaborations with notorious Italian smut and horror director Joe D'Amato. As well as starring in D'Amato's dubious delights, Eastman wrote the screenplay for many of them - including that of notorious hardcore porn/zombie flicks Erotic Nights of the Living Dead and Porno Holocaust. These films are so dire, it makes me think that Eastman should have stuck to acting. However, we are all allowed our off days and Eastman is now works as a prolific screen writer. He wrote the screenplays for Anthropophagus and Absurd - two films by D'Amato that actually contain very little sexual monkeying around and have a greater stress on straight horror. Eastman also starred in the movies - most notably Anthropophagus in which he played a crazy, cannibalistic serial killer. His role in Absurd was quite similar. Bottom line: Any friend of D'Amato's is a friend of mine and George Eastman stands head and shoulders above (literally) many of the men performing in the Euro Cult scene in the 70s and 80s.
