8 Underrated Disney Film Songs From The '90s

2. Gaston - Beauty And The Beast

If any song would pull somebody from depression, it is Gaston, because when a whole tavern is singing a song about you, it would be difficult to not get into it.

Let's be clear, for a man so obsessed with himself, Gaston's song is the ego boost, the call to arms that he is as great as he thinks he is.

The performance of Gaston shows us just who Gaston is as a character, ruthless and willing to do whatever it takes to get his own way, no matter the consequences. Which leads us to the third act nicely.

He clearly believes himself more than the average man, which is exactly how he has been treated his whole life and has never had to deal with anybody who could challenge his place in the microcosm of their French village and the social order that he has been afforded.

Lyrically, it is one of Disney's most inventive and fun, with a melody that could make you dance too, if only you weren't dancing around your living room in your underwear.

The remake did justice to the animation too with Luke Evans nailing the 'roughly the size of a barge' line.
