8 Unintentionally Hilarious Horror Movie Endings
6. Leatherface Has A Boogie - "Texas Chainsaw Massacre"
A horror film that every film fan veteran should watch at least once in their life, the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a masterpiece for an extensive number of reasons. However, one thing that never seems to be addressed is just how dumb the ending is. Usually, when you talk about the ending of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre it is with great admiration for the creation of the concept of the 'final girl', but i am unfortunately here to talk about the silly dance that the film's killer Leatherface has.
After murdering all but one of a group of teenage friends, leatherface is hell-bent on finishing his final kill of the group that manifests itself in the form of Sally, the last remaining teenager. After escaping the clutches of leatherface and his deranged family, Sally finds herself out on the open road in the middle of nowhere, yet somehow manages to flag down a pick up truck that drives her to safety.
Leatherface is left running after the truck, chainsaw in hand. However, it's a strange moment for the audience to witness. Clearly the intention of the scene was to show leatherface's anguish and hatred at the situation of not being able to carry out his final kill, but it seems to just be strange and downright funny. He flails his chainsaw about in a way that's almost rhythmic and makes it appear as though he is dancing.
Whether or not you thought this final sequence landed how it should have, there's no denying that it is, at the very least, tickle inducing.
