8 Unintentionally Hilarious Horror Movie Endings

5. A Classic Saw Ending - Spiral: From The Book Of Saw

2021 gave avid Saw fans the (sort of) latest instalment of the franchise which was full of the same level of gore and twists that you could expect from a Saw movie. However, with this comes the predictability of a Saw film. As much as we love the twists and turns, there's no denying that it was going to be difficult for this movie to pull out something that we hadn't seen before.

Following the story of Chris Rock's character Detective Zeke Banks, he is given the case of solving a string of murders throughout the city that seem to resemble the killings of the infamous Jigsaw murderer years earlier. However, this time the killer seems to be targeting cops. Along with his new partner, Detective Banks always seems to be one step behind the new copycat murderer until the third act of the movie.

This final stretch of Spiral reveals his new partner to have been the copycat murderer all along, and the final trap he has set up allows Detective Banks to either save the life of his father, or seek revenge and kill his partner. Despite picking the former, the trap's orchestration means that as soon as the SWAT team arrives on site, the trap continues to operate, resulting in the death of Banks' father at the hands of the SWAT team.

Despite not being overtly funny, the laughable aspect of this final scene is the predictability of it. For an audience member who will not have been familiar with Saw films understandably would have been enthralled by this ending, but a veteran Saw fan? Not so much. The ending was laughably predictable and therefore takes pride of place on this list.
