2. Sinister Six
The Film: A movie focused not on heroes but villains, centring on the team of Spider-Man enemies known as the Sinister Six, and more-than-likely featuring characters such as Rhino, Doctor Octopus, and Vulture, as teased at the end of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Why It Won't Happen: As with Venom, all plans Sony had based around their Amazing Spider-Man universe have been thrown into complete disarray by the failure of that film, and the subsequent deal with Marvel. Despite that, they are very much still be hoping to get this one going, although it would be difficult to do now that all of the build-up work has been lost. There were a lot of teases for the film during The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and even when it became apparent that film wasn't a hit they'd hoped to use this as a soft reboot of sorts. With a whole new continuity now in play, doing the Sinister Six movie just wouldn't make sense. That's not to mention the problem of too many villains in both Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Sony will have to start all over again with their Spider-Man franchise, and thankfully will have Marvel along for the ride, which means that this one should be shelved completely.
