8 Villains For The MCU Spider-Man (And Who Should Play Them)

2. Carnage - Jackie Earle Haley

If Venom is going to turn up - and is actually done right this time - we imagine his equally-popular spawn, Carnage, won't be far away either. Unlike Eddie Brock, who is just an ordinary guy driven to despair and anger when he becomes Venom, Carnage is really Cletus Cassidy, a crazed serial killer even before he merges with the symbiote. He's so bad that Spidey and Venom often have to team up to stop him. It would take a specific kind of actor then who could play such a warped and sinister character. Fortunately, one person rears their scary head. While his taking over the role of horror icon Freddy Krueger from Robert Englund might be proof enough, Jackie Earle Haley's best audition for Carnage is his turn as Rorschach in Watchmen - another insane mass murderer with his face hidden, though this one is just about on the side of good. Despite these, um, quirks, Haley makes Rorschach an engrossing character, even one you can root for, which is no easy task. With his grizzled, gravelly tones, Haley might just give the standout performance in that ensemble film, so he would no doubt steal the show again as Venom's even crazier counterpart.
